SUBJECT: Intermittent Quantar/ Console Priority Operation
MODELS AFFECTED: T5365A QUANTAR
SYSTEMS AFFECTED: Conventional 3.1 Integrated Voice and Data
systems
SYMPTOM: Console
audio may not have priority over repeat audio after a Radio Data Link Access
Procedure
(RDLAP)
transmission.
CAUSE: During an Astro RDLAP transmission, the DIU has the ability
to override the Quantars PTT priority
values.
If an Astro subscriber keys immediately after an RDLAP transmission, and
tailgates onto the repeater
during
the repeater hang time; the PTT priority values will not reset to the RSS code
plug values for the remainder
of
that transmission. This could cause the
console transmission to not override the repeat audio when the PTT
priority
values are wire line greater than repeat (W>R).

RESOLUTION: The first quarter 2001 System Enhancement
Release (SER) software for Quantar version V10.9
(R020.10.080)
or later version, will reset the PTT priority to the RSS programmed values upon
loss of the RDLAP PTT.

NOTE: An upgrade can
be obtained under an SSA (Software Subscription Agreement) or can be purchased
through your local account manager. Contact the System Support Center at 1-
800-221-7144.
