PROBLEM: A condition may exist where Tdata supplied to the Quantar or Quantro station by the Smartzone system may be gated to the modulated carrier instead of the 10hz squarewave.&nbsp;<br><br />
<br><br />
CAUSE: Incorrect software logic. Upon completion of all the alignments, if the station is not reset, and the user performs the reference modulation compensation procedure again, the station will incorrectly gate Tdata to the carrier.<br><br />
<br><br />
RESOLUTION: If during the course of the reference modulation compensation procedure the station transmits Tdata instead of the 10Hz square wave, reset the station and perform the reference modulation compensation procedure again, as documented in the RSS manual (68-81085E35) section 6. With all of the Quantar/Quantro alignment procedures, the values saved in the individual alignments will not take affect in the normal operation of the station until a station reset occurs. A reset will activate the updated settings. The RSS alignment screen offers a function key (F5) to reset the station.<br><br />
<br><br />
The condition may be observed with a service monitor viewing the modulation in the monitor mode. If the station is transmitting Tdata, the pattern on the modulation scope will appear as random and will not appear as a 10hz square wave. You may obtain additional information from the Quantar RSS manual (6881085E35, section 6 page 10).<br><br />
