<p>Subject: QUANTAR/QUANTRO BASE & REPEATER STATIONS NOT
GENERATING BSI (BASE STATION IDENTIFICATION) </p>

<p>MODELS AFFECTED: T5365A QUANTRO/QUANTAR STATIONS </p>

<p>SYSTEMS AFFECTED: CONVENTIONAL ONLY </p>

<p>ISSUE: When stations/channels are programmed as Conventional
Astro only or Conventional Secure only BSI will not be transmitted
from those stations. The station will keyup but the BSI audio
beeps will be muted. </p>

<p>NOTE: This issue has been present in firmware releases 6.0
through 8.1. </p>

<p>SOLUTION: Configure the station for Mixed Mode Operation using
the RSS as follows: </p>

<p>If the channel ï¿½Modulation Typeï¿½ is set as ï¿½Astro Onlyï¿½
(on the Main Change/View codeplug information screen) then change
the ï¿½Modulation Typeï¿½ to ï¿½Analog/Astroï¿½. Also, in order to prevent
Analog signals from being repeated, set the ï¿½Analog Repeater
Activationï¿½, ï¿½Analog Repeater Hold-inï¿½ to the OFF position on
this same screen field. </p>

<p>If the channel ï¿½Modulation Typeï¿½ is set as ï¿½Secure XLï¿½ (on
the Main Change/View codeplug information screen) then change the
ï¿½Modulation Typeï¿½ to ï¿½Analog/Secure XLï¿½ on this same screen field. </p>

<p>Add the stationï¿½s ID to the ï¿½Call Signï¿½ field (on the Main
Change/View codeplug information screen). If the ï¿½Call Signï¿½ field
is left blank, then no BSI will be sent out. </p>

<p>NOTE: This must be done for each channel that will require a
BSI to be transmitted. </p>
