SUBJECT: QUANTAR / QUANTRO, ASTRO-ONLY, REFERENCE MODULATION ALIGNMENT PROBLEM.

MODELS AFFECTED: T5365A QUANTAR / QUANTRO EQUIPPED WITH MODEMS.

SYSTEMS AFFECTED: ASTRO SIMULCAST ONLY 1.7, 3.0 CONVENTIONAL.

SYMPTOM: During alignment, the Reference Modulation Compensation Alignment test pattern has low modulation, around 400 Hz deviation.

CAUSE: Incorrect logic in the Quantar Conventional software.

WORK AROUND: Before performing the Reference Modulation Alignment,

1) Read and archive the current codeplug configuration.

2) Change the Wireline Interface from MODEM to V.24 Only.

3) Program the station's codeplug with these changes, and reset the station.

4) Perform the Reference Modulation Compensation Alignment.

  1. Program the station's codeplug with the archived codeplug from step 1, and reset the station.

 

RESOLUTION: The Quantar software version 10.2, that fixes this issue will be available for purchase by the end of

April 1999.
