The 6.18.10 Express Code Updater is nice because you can upgrade an EF Johnson Ascend ES Multi-Net radio from the 5.10 file format to the 5.11 file format. With PC Configure for the 5.11 format you are able to have multiple radio-wide scan lists instead of just one RWS. It basically makes the radio a very functional scanner. Just edit the options file to enable P25 digital/trunking and you have a very inexpensive scanner.

Most importantly, you can now do the RWS from a Zone that has conventional frequencies and the radio will NOT try to affiliate with the P25 systems. With earlier versions, when you did the RWS from a Zone with conventional frequencies where P25 trunking systems were involved, your EFJ radio would try to affiliate, giving out your location. Now you can scan and be invisible!
